I was taking a nap this afternoon, and heard two effin big bangs!
Looked out of the window and my car was GONE! Iw as like WTF?? ![]() Rushed outside and effin saw this man! [IMG] [/IMG]I was completely shocked and effin mad like anything! Bodywork had hardly any damage but this is what it done to my rear axel! [IMG] [/IMG]My car was pushed atleast a whole cars length forward with the handbrake on! This stupid learner f***ing car, smashed into my axel and flipped itself over! [IMG] [/IMG]WHAT KIND OF DAMAGE AM I LOOKING AT? Written off? I really hope not, took me a year to find this! How fast would the other car be having to travel for such an impact? I'm not sure how much REAL damage has been to car! I just hope that its not written off and would appreciate if people could give me an idea of the amount of damage has been done to the car! It was parked, with the handbrake on, on impact moved a whole cars length forward and bodywork seems to be minimal most likely scuffs/ dents on arch! Looks like the rear wheel has taken the whole impact! ![]() Last edited by aj17ay; 08-28-2008 at 07:48 AM.. Reason: updated info |

Re: F***ing Accident
thats unlucky,
you may be lucky and find your trailing arm has taken the impact and that the suspension/body mounting points are ok. but its impossible to say with out inspecting it doing measurements etc. hope you get it sorted ok.

Re: F***ing Accident
The damage wont be as bad as you think, but the insurance company wont see it like that. 99% of the damage will be to the rear trailing arm, as the area where the hub shaft meets the trailing arm will twist in a an accident. I did exactly the same and will dig a pic out for you now. All I had to replace was the rear trailing arm which was £70 although an EK9 one will be a bit more 2nd hand.
Unfortunately if you go through the insurance (which you should do as it wasnt your fault) then they will write that off on a Cat D going on prices for new parts from Honda, especially as the rear quarter is damaged (this writes car off on its own in some cases). Your only other option is to get some quotes from garages you know but get them to quote low (if your happy for them to fit 2nd hand parts) and hope the insurance company go for it. Either way its a crap situation mate ![]() ![]()

Re: F***ing Accident
The rear axle is bend anyway, ur never gonna get the same cornering and trackfeeling with the car if its fixxed, just parted out an ITRdc2 with simular damage, got some pics of the axle (the part between the LCA's where ur swaybar is mounted on, its bent about 10 degrees, good luck!

Re: F***ing Accident
I take it the chances are high that it's an insurance write off.
Although a part of me believes it still can be fixed, but as 'fastfwd' mentioned, will I get the same performance from it again? If it's a write off, how do they value the car? Alarm fitted, exhaust system etc? |

Re: F***ing Accident
Holy Crap! Unlucky man. Well as said above, it will be the suspension/trailing arm/hub and LCA that will have taken most of the damage. Did you look in around where the top mount of the suspension bolts into the chassis? Thats what I'd be worried about tbh! It's very fixable apart from that though!

Re: F***ing Accident
damn, I'm glad you were not inside the car! hope the other driver didn't suffer of any injury, how insurance work in your country? In my country repairing that kind of damage hmm the bill should be around 600 $
