No. I think you should re-phrase your question...

Are you serious? Do you really think you can run a vtec engine on your 1.4 ecu?

finally someone can answer me without bitchin. i do have some idea on cars this is the 1st engin conversion i want to do and just wanted some help. i didnt want to go buy the engin with the loom and managment ect ect and then realise i didnt need it all. thats why i wanted help. so if i wanted to proceed with putting a vtec engin in can anyone tell me exactly what i need to change?

hopefully this question makes sense.

if your asking questions like that then you shouldn't be doing a engine swap with little or no knowledge of how to do it. Take it someone who know's what they are doing and have it done properly

you really think you are brilliant dont you. you are one of these people that own a skoda but come on here and try and bypass it off as a 9. tbh i think you should stop bitchin about other ppl you obviously have not got any answers so why dont you keep your mouth shut. i am takin it to a garage but needed a rough idea on the parts i need so i can go get a price so thought i would ask on here some of us dont have mummy and daddy to pay for our cars to be done.

Re: help on engin conversion!!!!!!

Ok first off I think you need to loose the attitude. I could only assume you knew something about what you were asking in the op when mentioning wiring looms and ecu or brain as you called it. And if your having a garage do the conversion then they should know all this and be able to tell you exactly what's needed. Nevertheless I will answer the question is hand, no you can't use the 1.4 loom. You will need a obd2a vtec engine loom if car is 96-98(prefacelift model) or a obd2b loom if 99-00(facelift model). Can't use the 1.4 ecu. Get the correct ecu for which ever engine your using.

Check if the ECU has the same OBD interface as your wiring loom at the ECU side. Otherwise get a conversion harness. You should have a VTEC engine loom. VTEC D-series will suffice, as will any B-series. Check this reply of mine:

B18 conversion advise

I know what you mean, but you learn fastest by doing...the most difficult thing I had ever done on my EG before I did my swap last december, was swapping brakes and exhaust etc. Now I swapped the engine and I learned so much, never learned so much in such a short amount of time. And it ain't that difficult either. Just don't expect if you have little knowledge etc. that you will be done in a day. Take your time etc.

Can someone please ban this rude, ungrateful, immature, insulting idiot?

We really don't need people with this kind of attitude on this forum. Honestly, I don't know how you think you're gonna get through life talking to people like that.

Thread reported.

Her car is a Ej9 model civic which has a d14a4 engine there non vtec so can't use the loom off that on a vtec engine.
