i see many have removed said item, i think its an eyesore, is it safe/much more heat?

well if you have an aftermarket exhuast manifold there is no place to bolt on the heatshield.

I took mine off cause the brackets broke off. I would like to get a new one back on, can't stand the heat raising up.

I prefer to have the heat shield on if you have a stock header
