gsr oil catch can
I know theres some threads already on this but I need the best option. The story is is I have an oil catch can on my civic. Im only at 14 pounds cause the oil sprays out of the catch can so they couldnt tune it past that. I took the black box out and sealed it off. I have two lines running from the back of the block to the catch can and one at the bottom for the oil to leak out of. The other one goes from the catch can to the valve cover. What is the best option to get the oil to stop spraying out of the catch can filter? I dont know what the best option is? I have a setup to run at least 6-700 hp if not more. Is there a way for me to run this without using a pcv valve? Im trying to get the best performance obviously so Ill do whatever I have to do. I have a few weeks til they can get my car back in.

Re: gsr oil catch can
Sounds like you have a serious blowby problem, Have you done a compression check?
Where does the line at the bottom of the can go to? Can you get us a picture or draw a diagram? look into the T1 Catchcan kit, that is the best option.

Re: gsr oil catch can
no i havent done one. The line at the bottom of the can goes to the ground pretty much. I will take a pic and post it to give a better idea. If all else fails I will have to do the compression check

Re: gsr oil catch can
i am really holding back on saying rude things to you after reading this, do you have any idea how dangerous that is for you and for other cars on the road? You are dumping oil on the fuking road, what made you think that was a good idea? I really hope i am just misunderstanding you...

Re: gsr oil catch can
It hasnt even been driven on the road yet. I trailered it to get dyno'd. Screw the other cars, I dont want oil all over my engine bay. Considering everything is aftermarket, its really a lot more important to me. Secondly I put it like that til I could find a solution. It doesnt drain to the ground while Im driving, it was to drain the oil in there for the little I thought would end up there but it was filling up to quick. Nonetheless I found a solution to get it fixed so that ends the question for this thread. Thanks anyways

Re: gsr oil catch can
slammd - you know if it does spit a load of oil out YOU will be the first to skid. Blinx has a very valid point about the safety. You cant disregard the safety of others like that

Re: gsr oil catch can
if you think about it, if your car is pissing out oil the first wheels to meet it are your own back ones. so to be real its something that should be first on the list to fix. i dont know where your from but if someone had an accident over your oil spill your responsible for it u do know that. and was for how your engine bay look, its alot easier to clean it than than pull your car out of a ditch. just my opinion. seriously the engine bay look should be your last priorty. i know its mine. the the car built,RUNNING RIGHT anf then worry bout how it looks
