HOW TO erase EK9 ABS fault codes

Right so i assume you know how to get the ABS fault codes. The problem is this gives the current fault along with all the old codes that have been rectified. The biggest problem is identifying the new current fault.

So if your ABS light comes on and reads more than one fault you have to clear them all, road test the car till light reappears and then get new fault codes.

To erase EK9 fault codes this is the procedure

1. Turn ignition off
2. Bridge the diagnostic socket
3. Press brake pedal
4. Turn ignition on
5. ABS light will go off after about 2 seconds.
6. After the light goes off release the brake pedal.
7. The light will then come on after about 4 seconds.
8. When the light comes on press the pedal again.
9. When the light goes off the release pedal.
10. ABS light will now flash quickly a number of times to confirm all the code's have been erased.
11. Turn ignition off and remove bridging wire.

Good luck, Dunx :nice:

Ok I am trying to fix the ABS on an ek9 and have got fault codes 14, 16, 18 & 61.

14, 16, 18 = Wheel sensor (Electrical noise/intermittent interuption)
61 = ignition voltage

I have unplugged and checked all plugs, swapped the control unit in the righ of the drivers foot well. Measured resistance on wheel sensors they were all open circuit.

Oh does the ABS auto reset by just driving up the road?

Anyone got any ideas please.

Thanks Duncan

i've just changed my brake lines with hel braided lines after one of my old lines developed a leak which resulted in the whole system draining of fluid. after fitting the new lines i bled the car in the sequence given (rl, rr, fr, fl) however now my brakes are spongy, the first press and the pedal goes almost to the floor but if you pump them fast the pedal gets incresed pressure. if you hold the brakes on the pedal does not fall to the floor which would indicate leak etc which i have checked for and found none. the car has also been to a garage for pressure bleeding and they couldn't figure out what is wrong. i have manually bled the brakes several times and there is absolutely no more air coming out, still though spongy brakes.
anyone have any ideas? do you have to bleed ABS or master cylinder seperately etc please help as i have absolutely no idea what is wrong.
