"Ford Racing Puma number 159. Its an awesome little car. It has a massive history with it from new in a hardback binder showing all receipts etc and i mean every single receipt possible, it is taxed untill december and mot'd till october. The car has just been serviced by a Mercedes mechanic who is a close friend , also fitted was a new rear wheel bearing and pads all round . The car is running 100% with no problems . The ek9 has the usual extras inc , air con electric windows, power steering, electric folding mirrors, all usual standard ek9 parts, ie mats, recaros, momo steering wheel, lsd etc . Loads of service history from Uk and Japan .

Bad points :-
small bit of rust has started to flare up on the rear arch, price reflects this.
1 or 2 small dents from parking, not noticeable unless up close.
One interior door card has small scratches and steering wheel has started to fray slightly on the right hand side .

I am the 3rd UK owner and have had the car since 07/03/2009.

Mileage is currently at 74,000 (odo reads 101,000 but I have a certificate for when it was converted from km at import - shown below). This will rise as I use the car daily.

Car was taxed for 6 months at the start of August and is MOT'd till Febuary 2011.

It was last serviced on the 24th of August (last week) by a local performance car garage (The Garage - Performance Tuning - Tel: 01698 265303).

Since owning the car I have also had the timing belt changed by Honda at 90,000miles (on the clock).

I have a folder full of receipts from previous owners and have every receipt for work ive had done to the car.

The car has a few modifications as you will see from the pictures below. These include and Mugen Twin Loop Exhaust, AEM air filter, Front and Rear Strut Braces.

Car comes with a touch screen, double din, dvd player head unit and alpine speakers all round (Receipt for £230 for these last year).

It also has a Clifford Cat1 alarm and immobiliser.

Car has had a full valet (30/08/2010) and it is spotless inside and out. Recaros look like new.

I have probably missed lots about the car that I cant think of at the moment, any questions please dont hesitate to get in contact.

There are a few small niggles with the car at the moment which are normal for a car of this age. The passenger side electric window is very slow (regulator could be doing with being replaced - I have replaced the driver side since buying the car). The Type R Sticker on the bootlid is a bit faded and I have no rear seatbelts for the car. I bought the car with it completely striped out at the back and was never given the seatbelts or spare wheel / tool kit. I carry a can of tyre weld in case of a puncture. The front bumper has a few minor stone chips, nothing major.

I have plenty of pictures of the car and can supply more if required. Any viewing can be arranged most week nights / weekends in the Glasgow area.

Please note that the private plate will NOT be included with the car (but can be at an extra cost).

It was a personal import and was imported for me by my brother. Which... For sale is my 1998 EK9 Honda Civic Type R, which I have owned since July 2008. It was a personal import and was imported for me by my brother. Which means it was first registered to his company. It was not an auction car and was purchased privately with 106,000km's on the clock. The car is straight with no accident damage.

The car has been fully built and modified by my self. It was originally purchased with only a performance exhaust and alloys wheels. It has manual windows which is one of the reasons why I purchased it, due to being lighter. I then modified it as I went on. Having previously owned an Integra Type R DC2, I purchased the car with a B18C conversion in mind. When the time came I decided to take the plunge and went the full way, modifying the engine fully.

It has been well looked after, has had regular oil changes by myself with Silkolene 5w 40 fully synthetic oil and has been washed weekly. The engine was built and mapped by Romain Levesque at Euro spec formally known as ARTech Tuning. No other mechanic has done any work on the engine.

The only mod needed to finish the car is a breather system to vent the engine due to the high compression.

The car has never let me down and has even been used to commute to work. It returns good mpg and I have averaged 34mpg on my commute to work, with the current tune of the engine. Being a 12 year old car the car does have a couple of bad points which I will mention in the advert. It has passed its MOT with two advisories, tyres and rear brake pads, which I have changed for Blueprint ones. The only reason I am selling car is to move on to my next project. The car is priced at what I think is reasonable considering its age and modifications and how much I've spent on it, so I will not throw it away at a ridiculous price.

Being a 12 year old car it does have its bad points but nothing major. Only major point to mention is a scrape on th quarter pic included.

Car can do with some good performance tyres. I have had to change them due to the MOT.

The car originally had a Spoon N1 exhaust. With the Spoon N1 exhaust it made 209BHP @8700rpm. This was heavily restricting the engine. After a lot of changing around of breathing parts, I finally changed the exhaust with a 3" custom one. The engine made an amazing 234 BHP at 9000rpm! And still climbing with approx 153lbft of torque. This was on Euro specs Dyno Dynamic's dyno on which a standard b18c with breathing modifications made 177 BHP! Not to get too wound up on figures but it performs like it should. Romain at Euro Spec can vouch for the car. Engine was run in carefully with a limiter at 5000rpm, and strict oil changes.

The car is costing me over £13000 which includes the purchase price. Considering the bad points of the car and how much has been spent on it I am asking for £6000. I am open to offers but nothing silly.

Bad Bits
Car at this age is not 100% mint as it has been used as a track car and also two seasons of autotests for the past 14 months. But was previous of that i had it as my everyday commuter. The shell has some very minor surface rust on the usual arches but no ROT. The front and rear bumpers have a couple of small scuffs and scratches. All in all the condition is used and wouldn’t cost alot to restore the car.

I originally was going to convert the trackcar to a fully prep’ed race car that would be eligible for a race series.

Honda VTEC Challenge Race Series

All requires to be prep’d is a FIA approved Roll cage plus padding £450, Harness £200, Cut off isolater £50 and fire extinguisher kit £200. Seat is
in date so wont require changing.

But with the following work the car could also be eligible for Tintops, CSCC and 750mc All comers.

Reason for sale, purchased a Race car eligible for Stockhatch 750mc.

We are located on the Isle of Wight, but ferry travel and collection to and from the ferry ports (Portsmouth/Southampton/Lymington) can be arranged Passenger ferry crossing time is between 15-30 minutes depending on route. Hovercraft from Southsea is under 10 mintues. Car ferry is 45-60 minutes.

Honda Civic EK3 (B16A EG6 SiR engine swap) Car has done 115k. Engine has done 88k, Engine swap done by Yasir at Garage786 back in November/December 08. Was told the cambelt had been changed at around 70k and been serviced often but no papers to prove this as they where all in Japanese. I change oil and filters and plugs every 5-7k so its always pretty fresh. I have had the car over 3 years and done most work myself.

Had it Dyno'd at Powerstation and made 168bhp at the engine so its still a strong lil girl

I have already stripped the recaros, ek9 mats, ek9 carpet, dc2 arb and asr brace out and sold those, so now the interior is sandard VTi seats, ek9 steering wheel, Black carpet, EK9 door material and dc2 rear seat material over the ek foam.

I will try to remember most things to give you guys a rough idea about the car

Honda Civic EK3 (B16A EG6 SiR engine swap) Car has done 115k. Engine has done 88k, Engine swap done by Yasir at Garage768 back in November/December 08. Was told the cambelt had been changed at around 70k and been serviced often but no papers to prove this as they where all in Japanese. I change oil and filters and plugs every 5-7k so its always pretty fresh. I have had the car over 3 years and done most work myself.

Had it Dyno'd at Powerstation and made 168bhp at the engine so its still a strong lil girl

Think that is most of the stuff to be honest but im sure i have missed some.

Pics now. Some are old but show the main bits that are still on the car.

I have recently stripped out the dc5 recaros, ek9 carpet, ek9 mats, rear arb+asr brace and the rear upper dc sports strut brace.

These are the issues wrong with the car as it stands....all minor things with no major cost issues!
1 There is a slight knocking from the rear left of the car, this is due to a couple of worn bushes i have been told.
2 The boot has a leak and i have been told this is due to the seal.
3 The bonnet is a slight bit of a brighter white than the bumpers and wings
4 The passenger side seat rail has a problem, it is fixed into place but is still loose on 1 corner and bounces a bit
5 No Tax
6 Needs a fresh battery as i was away for 3 months
7 Slight rust starting to appear on the rear arches
8 Needs a proper rear wiper delete bung or something
9 All the normal little dents for a 12 year old car. 2 line looking dents on the passenger side but not to noticeable

I think i have been as honest and open as i can about this car. Its a good car and i miss driving it already. It has 8 months MOT left and the engine still runs smooth. I dont want to sell it but needs must and time to move on.

reason for sale: was originaly going to be a little summer fun but plans have stalled due to circumstances. the car is only in need of a remap by romain at artech tuning. currently it drives, runs and idles very well on its basemap.

problems
it has a occasional habbit were it will begin blow smoke from the exhaust, nothing serious as it does not lose any coolant or oil! this happens only when warm and the car is sitting at idle occasionaly at the traffic lights. from the small amount of hard driving i have given it due to it being on a basemap, it pulls well without any smoke on acceleration or deceleration. many people have told me that the smoke may be due to the idle map but i havent had the time to look into it. at worse case a d16z6 engine can be bought from around 120 quid and are readily available although the current engine had good compression throughout all 4 cylinders. i have been driving it like this for the last 500 miles without any trouble.

Shell is in need of tidying although its in good working order. the rear arches have been badly repaired but only visible upon close inspection.
the rust appears to be in its early stages and can be repaired an not replaced. the front bumpers been cut for the front mount intercooler, could do with some paint.
Few dents and dings expected for a car of this age. all of this is very hard to pick up on as the car is white.

the intercooler pipes will need trimming to allow the bumper to sit more flush with the wings.(about an hours work) and the bumper needs replacing/painting.

have a spare unfitted spare t25 turbo, act clutch stage 2 which i will include along with 2 cobra fixed bucket seats ( 1 in good condition other torn).

i will recommend that the new owner has the car remapped before driving it hard through its rev range.

i'd like to make clear that this is a home made turbo project, all of the parts i have used are very capable of runing higher power if the new owner wanted to build the engine and so on. the turbo is easily uprgraded to a larger T28 unit. the exterior has a more functional and used look over the show and shine.

the car is no minter and shows signs of its age, i have tryed to picture all of its issues to avoid wasting time.
