hi guys i thought i would start a new thread in the build up section.

im just going to start from when i first got the car but stupidly i have got any pictures of it complety standard engine etc.

but i hope you like!

Well first of all i gave it a good clean and already had parts for the car before i even had the 9 thats how excited i was!

The first buy for my car was a j's racing rear strut brace, its just perfect does what its supposed to and does it very well and also looks amazing :naughty:

I was in love with the look and the sound of my brothers spoon n1 when he had it on his DC2 so i had to have one, so i did i bought the n1 and b-pipe for a very good price

its just sounds perfect!

I also removed my rear seats and carpet and tools!
But need to paint the rear floor will hopefully be done soon!

I found a carbing 3 point strut brace for sale for a very good price so i needed it and when it arrived it is an amazing strut brace i was shocked at the weight and also the quailty!
Bought a mugen intake i personally bought it becuase i had money spare from buying the car and it was more of an impulse buy :nerv: but im glad i did!

New box arrived one morning and it was my bride low seatrail after waiting months for it to be shipped here from japan, it was well worth the wait! one of the best buys i have so far!

Had to buy some spoon socks and spoon rad cap ;)

Livvy had these for sale so nabbed them as soon as possible! ATM they are still being refurbed but i will get some pictures of them when they are done up as soon as possible.

Picked up this bare shell of Livvy around a year and a half ago, cost me the grand total of.. £50, and bought the EK9 Boot for around £70 and the Lock/Key set for £50, went down to get it and then kept it in a garage for a few months, but then ended up being busy with other things, so it had to sit outside for the best part of 8 months, so through the seasons it changed from an attractive pond to an ice rink!

As you can see, I had a blank canvas to work on, before I contacted Livvy regarding the shell, I sat down and had a brainstorming session, etc and worked out that for the price I could buy the shell for, along with all the aftermarket parts I wanted, etc and decided I'd prefer to buy the shell, and build it rather than buy a complete EK9.

Idea of purchasing the EK9 was to build it as a weekend/track car, with the concept being: instead of buying a complete EK9 and then spending money on aftermarket upgrades that I would want, I could just buy these instead of OEM parts. So after a sitting down and working out costs, etc, it was decided that it would be the best option, and I've always wanted to build up a car from a bare shell to, that was the main reason so the shell was purchased.

Cleaning the Interior after its seasons outdoors and removed some sound deadening:

Basic Outline of the build was:
- To be functional, lightweight, but also tidy and not over the top
- A decent reliable engine (B18C), that runs well and has a few modifications (not concerned with BHP figures)
- A comfortable yet lightweight/functional interior
- A very good chassis/suspension set-up for excellent handling

Next up I removed the remaining parts (Wings and Doors) and got to prepping the shell ready for it to be re-sprayed, this involved sanding the whole shell, including the engine bay and interior, inbetween sorting out the 10's of tiny little parking dings/dents that the car had picked up throughout its life in Japan.

Gave the doors a clean

Dent hunting

Engine bay prepping, before and after, still looks shiny in pics due to light

hello guys. i have been working on my EK9 for a while now and i have decided to look a little more into building a engine, specifically a B18C1. :) any idea how much this is going to cost? doesn't have to be an exact figure, just an estimate from some experienced EK9 owners is fine.
also, it'll help alot if i could get a list of all the necessary parts i'll need for this BIG project.

thanks a lot!

P.S. im from the united states. so it'll help if those figures were in american dollars.

Black Civic SiR Ek4, 67,000 miles standard as they come

It's not as clean as my Ej9 which was pretty damn clean but it will be and has no rust which I'm most happy about.

168bhp ish from factory imported in 2008, had a full respray last year and I have to say I'm really enjoying it so far! got big plans...

Only put on my Jordan wheels so far, future thinking bronze TE37's, SPOON Spoiler, front lip, lower, tint etc...

Pics

I recently bought a 96 ek9 from my buddy. I'm doing a type r conversion and have a few parts and plan on putting a k series in from the start. Parts I have so far are black suade headliner, black suade back seat with red stitching, red type r floor mats, type r shift boot and chrome shift knob. I still have a lot of parts to buy and also this is my first Honda build so I'm a noob to a lot of things. I will be asking plenty of questions and will need a lot of help. I plan on doing most of the work at home with some friends who know About.Honda's but I would like some feedback on the plan i have so far for the car and maybe things ill need to know for the future. Thanks
