Well I want to share with you my B16B tuning experience.

In my country, the city is 5000 feet above sea level, so the dyno (dynojet) reads a little low compared to USA/UK dynos, which are located almost at sea level.

This is how I started.

  • Standard B16B
  • Standard ECU
  • Standard exhaust
  • Apexi (crap) intake.

The car made 137 whp and 97 lb/ft of torque :((

I really didn't like that numbers, THEY SUCK lol, so I started modding it.

I added:

  • Mugen DC2 Intake.

  • Ebay TDM Header (hytech replica)

  • Hondata S300J

  • Custom 2.5" exhaust from header, no resonator and stock ek9 muffler.
After tuning, the car achieved 170 whp and 120 lb/ft of torque :nerv:

I'm very happy with the numbers, around 33 whp more, this should be like 175-180 whp at a dyno located at sea level :nerv:

This is how the motor looks now:

Next mods:

  • Cam sprockets.
  • Aftermarket muffler.

Some times tuners can get a couple of whp just by adjusting the oem cams :nice:

would have been very interesting to see what kind of numbers you would have made with all stock components including the stock intake but using the S300 - this is seeing how unstable the AFRs appeared to be on your initial charts.

Still, most excellent gains on your current setup! Congratulations!

contragulations rvm, not all the cars gains that amount of whp from one session to other,
hands down for your ek9

wow, 33whp is awesome!!

I'll be happy if i've made 30BHP with my I/H/E + Spoon ECU, never mind whp and we have shell 99 octane over here!! :-O

congrats man, you must be thrilled, makes me want proper management!

Very nice! Congrats, you must be loving all that power now!

now lets go for 180 whp:

tit. camsprokets
skunk pro2 stage 1 cams
70mm tb
98 octane gas
match porting headers to head
and match porting intake to head

Yep, thats my wish list right now, hope to get them in the following months :D

man rvm i know this is frowned upon but maye u can upload your tuned base map so my tuner can see how a b16b is supposed to be tuned. I payed $250 to tune and only gained 5 hp with i/h/e and hondata s300.
I must say im happy for you and you are my inspiration to being able to hit 170!! because that is my goal. :)
