Having finally settled back into ek9.org it's great to see the same names popping up helping old and new members alike.

However, I can't help but notice many of the same questions being asked over and over again - and you know what? That's fine. But it's the nature of how the question is being asked that really irks me and remains incredibly inefficient.

Before I begin, it is VERY IMPORTANT that any new or old members who have NOT listed their current location - do so immediately! ek9.org is an international forum and what may be readily available in one country may not apply to you at all due to cost etc.

I'm not asking you to post your home address and phone number. Just simply saying you're from EARTH or leaving it blank will NOT do.

For example:
UK helps, but it would be better if you listed a city
USA helps, but it would be best if you at least listed the state

Now. How to ask QUESTIONS. This is typically what I see

Hi, I want to know what the BEST cams/header/intake/exhaust/suspension/wheels/brakes are for my car

"Best" is very hard to define when you do not tell us
1) how much you are comfortable spending
2) what you intend to do with the car (mainly daily drive or track or mix?)
3) what CURRENT RELEVANT modifications you have on your car
4) what your expectations/goals are


Another example:

I want to know if getting a final drive/LSD/flywheel/Port and Polish head/stroker kit is worth it?

Again, the four points I made above are to be included. In fact, I want to see members ask questions in that format - if it applies to you and it should. This formula will undoubtedly get you fast, informative, ACCURATE information.

Recently in an attempt to stop spammers and other unwanted behavior ek9.org has implemented a few guidelines, for a very long time now we have had no official rules but as the forum grows structure is needed to keep the place clean. Feel free to pm myself or any other mod if you have any questions, the rules are very simple:


1. Users with less than 25 posts cannot use the PM function, they can only PM moderators.

2. Users must have 100 legitimate posts to be able to post in the "For Sale" section.

3. The users market place has some new rules that are stickied in that section, please read them.


Posting crap to reach the post limit is not allowed and will result in all posts being deleted, a second offense will result in a permanent ban. This is a technical forum, the marketplace is a privilege not a right.

Please report any user spamming the forum to reach the post limit

We will also be adding some new moderators soon!! Any questions please ask or start a thread in the support/suggestions area if you have an idea.

Thank you everyone for contributing, ek9.org is only this good because of its users And sorry if these guidelines are an inconvenience to anyone, its the result of spammers and users who only sign up to sell.
