Ok guys, I thought I’d do a thread to show the story of my car as I love reading other peoples so here’s mine! I have no final plan for the car so don’t know where it’s heading or how it will end so we’ll have to see…

My story began in Spring 2009 as I decided that keeping my then current FN2 CTR was not a good idea due to finances etc. so decided to sell it. A few pics:

As I had loved my first Honda so much and with having friends and family with Civics then I decided to try both the EK9 and Integra DC2 but this was around the time of a few Jap Shows so there weren’t too many around. Anyway, after a while one came up for sale that caught my eye. A few pics:

I took a four and a half drive to Devon to view it, along with visiting Torque GT to view a 98 Spec Integra. I liked the DC2 very much but on seeing the EK9, just knew I had to have it! The car was bought from a ek9.org member :nice:

The first thing I did was take it to TDI-North for a general check over and a dyno run. At this point, the car only had a J’s Racing CAI and 5zigen Fireball catback. A few pics:

The car made 183 bhp and 113 lb/ft torque.

Next thing I did was get a new Pioneer AVH-P3100 headunit installed and a Clifford 650 alarm. A few pics:

Then I just tried to keep it clean throughout the summer so it didn’t look out of place next to my mum’s car, which can be seen in this thread: http://www.ek9.org/forum/photos-videos/15428-my-ek9-my-mums-ek4.html A few extract pics:

I had the car fully serviced in Sept 2009 before the winter, which included the installation of Ferodo DS2500 pads all round.

I then had a bit of trouble with the car following the service, which is documented in this thread: http://www.ek9.org/forum/engine/21528-going-idle-concerns.html, but after finding a very helpful garage – Eightspeed - they got it running fine again. I then decided to get some bits and pieces for it…

First of all was a new Exhaust Manifold and with having the Fireball decided to go for a 5zigen item. I got this through n1 j's monster on here. A few pics:

So that was everything out of the engine changed, now for the intake setup! I managed to pick up a Spoon Venturi Throttle Body and Skunk2 Intake Manifold from JamesSSB on here. A few pics:

There were a few initial problems with these as this thread: http://www.ek9.org/forum/engine/26208-sticking-throttle-body-throttle-cable.html but after some adjustments at the garage it all got sorted!

With the intake being taken off a few times, I found the supporting bracket to be broken as this thread: http://www.ek9.org/forum/engine/22846-js-racing-intake-problem.html but the new bracket is holding strong! A few extract pics:

I also had the engine mounts changed as they were apparently showing some wear. I found the aftermarket one’s made some initial noise but now they have bedded in, they are silent. I created a thread on this at the time: http://www.ek9.org/forum/engine/23824-engine-mount-vibration.html. A few pics:

It was around this time that I also passed the 100k milestone. A few pics:

I then began looking into suspension so first on the list was a front strut, which I researched in this thread: http://www.ek9.org/forum/suspension/14456-strut-braces.html. I managed to get hold of a Password JDM 3-point from olly ek9 on here. A few pics:

Then came some coilovers, which I am still unsure on as this thread: http://www.ek9.org/forum/suspension/29769-hsd-hr-coilovers-buddy-club-n-dampers.html A big thanks to everyone helped in this thread: http://www.ek9.org/forum/suspension/24569-coilovers-but-what-else.html when researching camber adjusters etc! That’s all for now but I have some Spoon SW388’s to put on in the summer, I just need to find some wheel nuts for them first! I’m thinking of getting the Yokohama AD08 tyres on these too. A few pics:

I also have some Hankook RS2 tyres on the way from Simauto for my oem wheels.

My rear discs are apparently wearing so will be doing some research to find some recommended one’s for Easter time 2011. Any thoughts then let me know :)

I intend to get a rear strut brace so will probably go for the Password JDM one.

I will also be getting some new brake calipers in 2011 so hopefully some Spoons will come up or maybe the Wilwoods, which look good :nice:

nope, not had it on the rollers since the mods but will have it back on there at some point. i'd love to get an Hondata ecu in the future but we'll see! if not, will just have to take it on as it is and see how it's running!

thanks for the comments :)

thanks for the comments on the write up, it took a while but have been meaning to do it for ages and finally had the time! :)

the wheels maybe Rega's, not too sure! they were advertised as Spoons but could be the Evos as reading threads like http://www.ek9.org/forum/tyre-wheels/1342-ultimate-wheel-weight-guide.html then they are the same?! maybe someone could advise on how to determine? :blinx:
