Throttle body screw and Scuttle panel

The Cat will only work effectively when it’s up to temperature. I still have the original cat on my car and it works perfectly.

Throttle body screw and Scuttle panel

Is your car is up to running temperature in that photo of the emissions tester? If so the only reason the CO is high is because the CAT isn’t working properly (worn out / blocked)

    EK9 Rolling Restoration

No I’m hoping it’s because the water wasn’t circulating due to the thermostat not opening, the water being pushed out into the expansion bottle is because it was getting too hot. Fingers crossed it’s just a thermostat and not a cracked cylinder head etc

New regulators in and they work great. Tidied up the wiring. Added these bits of foam to each door to stop the rods rattling over bumps. Bit of a “silk purse out of a sows ear” job here, I decided to use as much of it as I could. Some of it was missing hence the tape. A pair of original...

    EK9 RX Not Sparking

Sounds like the sensor that triggers the spark isn’t working. You could prove this with an oscilloscope if you have use of one? I did this years ago and proved it was a dizzy before buying one. If you pop the fuel rail off with the injectors out of the manifold you could crank it and see if...

    EK9 Rolling Restoration

I had to take the ek9 off the road for a while, so I’ve got a mk1 CRV which is proving useful until I fix the ek9, there was an oil leak from the corner of the headgasket that was getting worse and the running issue was worrying me with daily fault codes and lack of power. Good news is I found...
